Economic Development
Resources & Programs

SWAMC offers several economic development programs for the Southwest Alaska region. We support long-term, responsible growth for this region by helping Alaska small businesses, commercial fishing organizations, tribal organizations, and other community members access grant opportunities and other economic resources.

Our Current Programs

Economic Recovery Plan

With funding awarded from the Supplemental CARES Act, we strive to help Southwest Alaska recover from the economic difficulties of the pandemic and are developing a Regional Economic Recovery & Resiliency Plan.

Broadband-in-a-Box

Our “shovel ready” broadband plan guides tribal entities on how they can help provide their communities with reliable broadband solutions and prepare for the utilization of federal broadband infrastructure funding.

Energy Audit Program

We provide grant assistance and low-cost energy audits to both small business owners and commercial fishers. This program is available for qualified applicants in any part of Alaska, outside of the Municipality of Anchorage.

COVID Relief Resources

SWAMC helps businesses, tribes, and municipalities in Alaska navigate the many grants and assistance available to aid organization who are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Find ARPA program information here.
